I have a new bestie, and his name is St. Jude!

You know how sometimes we go through life knowing about someone or something, but never fully understanding or appreciating it until we experience it firsthand? That’s exactly how it was for me with St. Jude. I always knew who he was—a saint of impossible causes and a symbol of hope in the darkest times. But I never really took the time to learn more about him or to build a connection.

That all changed when I encountered his first-class relic in Los Angeles.

When it was announced that St. Jude’s relic was going to be in the area, people were super excited. Of course, I couldn’t miss out!. I told my family right away, primas and I went together.

When we arrived at the church, I was shocked! There were hundreds of people lined up, many holding onto something that connected them to St. Jude like images, statues, and medallitas (small medals). I could see how much people loved him and how deeply they believed in his intercession. As we waited in line, we even heard testimonies; it was as if everyone there had a story or a moment and they were all so thankful for St. Jude.

By the time we got closer to enter the church where the relic was, I started praying asking St. Jude for his intercession.

When we stepped inside the church, there was something indescribable in the air, something beautiful that I can’t explain in words. The church was filled with images of St. Jude and his biography.

When I finally walked by the relic and touched the glass, everything shifted. It was as if he whispered to me, “I’ve heard your prayers, Do not worry.” In that moment, a flood of emotions washed over me, I felt seen, heard and understood. It was like I had been carrying a weight that I didn’t even know I had and St. Jude had just taken it off my shoulders.

After that encounter, I knew this was the beginning of something special, St. Jude wasn’t just someone I had heard of, he was now my new bestie!

Our relationship started at that moment, now I’ve learned so much about him. Every time I pray, I ask for his intercession.
